CHICAGO – Independent Publishers Group (IPG), the last remaining independent book distributor of significant size in North America, is pleased to announce the addition of seven publishers to its sales and distribution programs.

Elizabeth & Minnie Publishing is an independent publisher dedicated to identifying and amplifying underrepresented voices, with a particular focus on women's stories. Leveraging deep roots in the entertainment industry, the company invests in bold, resonant works with strong potential for adaptation, including film, television, and other experiential formats.

"At Elizabeth & Minnie, we believe stories shape culture and spark connection," said Jeanell English, Co-Founder. "We're thrilled to partner with IPG to bring fresh, necessary voices to more readers—and to reimagine how those stories come to life across formats and communities."

"We're excited to bring powerful stories to the world - stories that deserve to be seen, heard, and remembered," added Tanya Sam, Co-Founder. "With IPG's support, we're expanding what's possible for our authors and their audiences." IPG will begin worldwide distribution of Elizabeth & Minnie titles on June 1, 2025.

Starting June 1, 2025, IPG will distribute Black Panel Press worldwide. Black Panel Press is a publisher of international graphic literature based in Newfoundland, Canada. They publish primarily one-shot graphic novels for mature audiences with a focus on biography and history.

Shaherazad Shelves is the first Muslim-owned, Muslim-serving fiction publisher in the United States. Founded in 2021, they are a New York-based book publisher created by two sisters aiming to diversify bookshelves all over the world and dismantle the barriers of traditional publishing for low-income, immigrant, or religious minorities. Beginning July 1, 2025, IPG will distribute Shaherazad Shelves worldwide.

IPG will distribute Top Five Books worldwide starting on August 1, 2025. Top Five Books was founded in 2008 with the mission of bringing exceptional fiction and nonfiction to discerning readers. Their current focus has been editions of classic public domain titles; in addition, Top Five has a partnership to publish for OA+D Archives, bringing Frank Lloyd Wright and other architecture books with a diehard audience to market.

Type Eighteen Books was established in 2023 as a home for fiction that demonstrates a love of language, empathy, and a striving for understanding—great stories by unforgettable voices. Type Eighteen Books is also a home for stories neglected by traditional publishers due to experimental form or intent. IPG will distribute Type Eighteen Books in the United States and Canada starting September 1, 2025.

IPG will begin distribution of Anjana Publishing in the United States and Canada on January 1, 2026. Whether it’s tales of Hindu Gods and festivals, or the mortals who overcome cancer and chronic pain, Anjana Publishing—a children's book publisher based in Hong Kong—finds a way to tell ancient and modern stories alike with ease, joy, and wonder.

American Mythology is an intellectual property development company that works in the areas of licensed, company-owned, co-owned and creator-owned comic books and other media. Key titles include Return of the Living Dead, Zorro, Casper, Three Stooges, Pink Panther and other classic comics. IPG will begin digital distribution for American Mythology worldwide on June 1, 2025.

About Independent Publishers Group:

Founded in 1971, IPG was the first organization specifically created for the purpose of marketing titles from independent presses to the book trade. Today, IPG’s wide reach into the book market includes distribution of both print and e-books from a wide array of publishers, digital printing, and traditional publishing. With consistent growth year over year, IPG’s success has come from supporting and encouraging the growth of its publishing partners in the United States and worldwide. IPG was acquired by Chicago Review Press in 1987, and this acquisition formed the parent company Chicago Review Press, Inc., which now owns Chicago-based indie publishers Chicago Review Press and Triumph Books.
