CHICAGO, IL— Independent Publishers Group (IPG) is pleased to announce the addition of four new publishers to its Spanish language and Trafalgar Square Publishing (TSP) programs.

Editorial Destellos began worldwide distribution (excluding Puerto Rico) with IPG’s Spanish program on April 1, 2022. The independent publishing house is focused on accessible and high-quality children’s and young adult literature, with stories celebrating diversity and the human experience.

Catapulta Editores, which began North American print distribution on November 1, 2022, is an established Spanish-language publisher of original and attractive books for all ages. Catapulta has over twenty years of history in the publishing industry, having started as Klutz in Latin America before being bought out by Scholastic and later partnering with Quarto to create the Spanish language imprint Quarto Iberoamericana.

Alegría Publishing began North American distribution with IPG’s Spanish program on December 1, 2022. Born of a passion for sharing Latine/X stories that have traditionally been excluded from the book publishing industry, Alegría’s books are created for a new generation of diverse and bilingual readers who want to see themselves reflected in the stories they read.

TSP, IPG’s international division known for its broad range of top titles and publishers in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, will begin distributing LID Publishing in North America on June 1, 2023. LID is a UK-based publisher specializing in general business publications, including non-fiction books, biographies and professional journals.

About Independent Publishers Group:
Founded in 1971, IPG was the first organization specifically created for the purpose of marketing titles from independent presses to the book trade. Today, IPG’s wide reach into the book market includes distribution of both print and e-books from a wide array of publishers, digital printing and traditional publishing. With consistent growth year over year, IPG’s success has come from supporting and encouraging the growth of its publishing partners in the United States and worldwide. IPG was acquired by Chicago Review Press in 1987, and this acquisition formed the parent company Chicago Review Press, Inc., which now owns Chicago-based indie publishers Chicago Review Press and Triumph Books.

Cardinal Rule’s newest imprint came in July of this year when Dismondy acquired Bucket Filler Books. Known for its line of best-selling children’s titles by Carol McCloud, Bucket Fillers has sold more than three million books and been translated into ten different languages since McCloud’s debut title, “Have You Filled a Bucket Today: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids.”
