Author Biography

Mary E. Garrison is currently in her 12th year of teaching full time at Millikin University and has had extensive experience in the social work field, with over fifteen years of practice in mental health services, policy, and advocacy. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and an immediate past board member for the Illinois Chapter. She is a past recipient of the NASW Illinois Social Worker of the Year Award, the Cesar Chavez Social Justice Award, and the first ever recipient of the Macon County Continuum of Care Advocate of the Year Award (2015). Cliff Richey was the top pro tennis player in the United States in 1970, a winner of 45 pro singles titles, and a two-time member of the championship-winning U.S. Davis Cup team. The author of the book Acing Depression, he organizes charity tournaments to raise mental health awareness around the country. He lives in San Angelo, Texas.
