Overview
Skomer is a National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a world-renowned bird paradise. This superb natural history book by Skomer resident Jane Matthews illustrates the landscape, seasons, flora, and fauna in over 150 photographs. Skomer Island lies less than a mile off shore from the Marloes Peninsula in Pembrokeshire, yet it is this short span of water that sets the island a world apart from its neighbors. Free from all land-based predators, Skomer has evolved as its own bustling ecosystem in a unique and spectacular landscape.
