Author Biography

Escritor, biógrafo y activista social austríaco, posteriormente nacionalizado británico, de la primera mitad del siglo XX. Sus obras estuvieron entre las primeras que protestaron contra la intervención de Alemania en la Primera Guerra Mundial y fue muy popular entre las décadas de 1920 y 1930 Más conocida como Virginia Woolf, fue una escritora británica, autora de novelas, cuentos, obras teatrales y demás obras literarias; considerada una de las más destacadas figuras del vanguardista modernismo anglosajón del siglo XX y del feminismo internacional Cuentista, dramaturgo y poeta uruguayo. Fue uno de los maestros del cuento latinoamericano, de prosa vívida, naturalista y modernista.? Sus relatos a menudo retratan a la naturaleza con rasgos temibles y horrorosos, como enemiga de las circunstancias del ser humano - Narradora neozelandesa que cultivó la novela corta y el cuento breve, convirtiéndose en una de las autoras más representativas del género. Representa un caso aparte en la literatura anglosajona de la época, pues, de forma análoga a la del ruso Antón Chéjov, supo captar la sutileza del comportamiento humano.

Stefan Zweig was an Austrian writer, biographer, and social activist—later naturalized British—active during the first half of the 20th century. His works were among the first to protest Germany’s involvement in World War I, and he enjoyed great popularity throughout the 1920s and 1930s. Virginia Woolf, a British writer better known under that name, was the author of novels, short stories, plays, and other literary works. She is regarded as one of the most prominent figures of early 20th-century Anglo-Saxon modernist literature and a key figure in international feminism. Horacio Quiroga, a Uruguayan short story writer, playwright, and poet, was one of the masters of Latin American short fiction, known for his vivid, naturalistic, and modernist prose. His stories often depict nature as a terrifying and hostile force, an adversary to human circumstances. Katherine Mansfield, a New Zealand writer of short fiction and novellas, became one of the most representative authors of the genre. She occupies a unique place in early 20th-century English literature, comparable to Anton Chekhov for her ability to capture the subtle nuances of human behavior.
