CHICAGO – Independent Publishers Group (IPG) will host a Spanish-Language Showcase on October 10, 2024, from 10am-12pm CDT.
This inaugural IPG Spanish-Language Showcase will offer a forum for IPG’s Spanish-language publishers to speak directly with buyers and booksellers throughout the trade community. The showcase is one of IPG’s several initiatives focused on Spanish-language titles in response to the increased demand among readers and interest within the trade, including feedback received at the recent Spanish-language forum hosted by the Independent Publishers Caucus, at which IPG joined other panelists to highlight opportunities.
A group of IPG’s Spanish-language publishers will present 65 titles over the course of the two-hour session. The showcase will be divided between adult and children’s interest and provides an additional opportunity, post-sales conference, for IPG publishers to amplify their priority Spring 2025 titles.
Tim McCall, Vice President, Sales at IPG, said, “I hope this becomes a regular event that will help drive further sales for publishers and authors. We look forward to a vibrant exchange of ideas that will help shape an important and growing market for IPG’s vast catalog of Spanish titles.”
Brooke O’Donnell, Senior Vice President, International Business Development, said, “We’re delighted to be connecting our Spanish-language publishers with the accounts who support their lists here in the United States. We hope this new forum gives our publishers insights into what’s working in this market and our buyers a better understanding of key Spanish-language books available to them through IPG.”
###
Founded in 1971, IPG was the first organization specifically created for the purpose of marketing titles from independent presses to the book trade. Today, IPG’s wide reach into the book market includes distribution of both print and e-books from a wide array of publishers, digital printing, and traditional publishing. With consistent growth year over year, IPG’s success has come from supporting and encouraging the growth of its publishing partners in the United States and worldwide. IPG was acquired by Chicago Review Press in 1987, and this acquisition formed the parent company Chicago Review Press, Inc., which now owns Chicago-based indie publishers Chicago Review Press and Triumph Books.
