CHICAGO & LONDON - Independent Publishers Group (IPG) is pleased to announce that it has signed five new academic and professional publishers to its sales and distribution programs.
Universitas Press began global distribution with IPG on March 1. Universitas is a Montreal-based academic press publishing the relevant work of academics and independent researchers in the humanities and social sciences. While their focus is on academic literature, Universitas also publishes editions of literary classics and regional Canadian titles.
Eurospan began exclusive distribution for NIAS Press in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Oceania, and Central Asia, and non-exclusive in South Asia, on January 1. The Nordic Institute for Asian Studies Press, acquired by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Press in 2023, publishes in all areas of Asian studies, focusing primarily on research in the social sciences and history with a geographical focus on East or Southeast Asia.
TCU Press has traditionally published the history, culture, and literature of Texas and the American West with a distinct focus on the discovery and preservation of local history. Eurospan began distributing TCU Press worldwide, excluding North America, on March 1.
Eurospan began worldwide distribution for Griffin Publishers on March 1. Published under the imprints Timeo and ActaMedica, Griffin produces specialist and university books written by Italian authors for the training and updating of doctors and their teams.
Based in Spain, the publisher dr.Herriot—named after the pen name of the world-famous British veterinary surgeon, James Herriot—publishes books in the field of veterinary science. Beginning April 1, Eurospan will distribute dr.Herriot worldwide.

About Independent Publishers Group:

Founded in 1971, IPG was the first organization specifically created for the purpose of marketing titles from independent presses to the book trade. Today, IPG’s wide reach into the book market includes distribution of both print and e-books from a wide array of publishers, digital printing and traditional publishing. With consistent growth year over year, IPG’s success has come from supporting and encouraging the growth of its publishing partners in the United States and worldwide. IPG was acquired by Chicago Review Press in 1987, and this acquisition formed the parent company Chicago Review Press, Inc., which now owns Chicago-based indie publishers Chicago Review Press and Triumph Books. In October 2021, IPG acquired UK-based United Independent Distributors (UID) and its subsidiary companies Eurospan, Marston Book Services and Orca Book Services, extending IPG’s menu of services and global reach.
