Overview
The book introduces the financial system and the role of financial intermediaries starting with an investigation of the financial needs of people, businesses, and institutions. Finance Lab approaches the topic from the perspective of the balance sheets of savers and lenders who interact to fulfill each other's need for funds. The book continues with an analysis of the main characteristics of different financial securities, and the functioning of the main Financial Markets in which they are exchanged where the role of Financial Intermediaries comes into play. The target is made up of students and professionals who are new to the world of finance.Author Biography
Andrea Cerri is Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Management at Catholic University, Milan. He also teaches at IES Abroad Foundation, Bicocca and Bocconi University in Milan. Gimede Gigante is Lecturer in the Finance Department of Bocconi University and Deputy Director of the Master of Science in Finance. He is also Deputy Director of the Bachelor Degree Program in Economics and Finance. He is Harvard Business Review advisory board council member.
