Overview

Society in its 21st century shape is an improvising one: driven by incidents and impulses, with actors engaging in problem-solving practices, freely dealing with institutional logics and opportunities. Is it possible to improve improvisation from a normative perspective? In what way do 'crafting communities' contribute to this public challenge? And to that extent do new forms of governance emerge from these improvising and crafting practices? This book presents studies addressing these novel questions in public policy and governance.
