Digital Production Associate

FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director, Publisher Development
Employment Status: Full-time

The Digital Production Associate is a support role spanning across IPG’s eBook, audiobook and digital print services. This position is responsible for reviewing and approving a high volume of incoming digital content from all IPG publishing programs. This position is integral to the digital services provided to our client publishers. The role will work closely with our client publishers and IPG’s partners in eBook, audiobook and digital print capabilities. This is an entry level role which requires the person to be able to adapt to a quickly changing environment while maintaining relationships and attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Review and process eBook and audiobook assets and corresponding metadata for accuracy and compliance. Correct eBook files containing errors, modifying HTML and images contained inside.
  • Work with IPGs eBook conversion partners as needed, handling files and metadata as needed. Communicate with IPG Client Publishers regarding the status of their submissions and file conversions.
  • Prepare and distribute Search Inside the Book (SITB) files for previewing purposes on vendor sites.
  • Review and process print-ready PDF files and corresponding metadata submitted by publishers for accuracy, compatibility with printers and preferred program enrollment. These include print specifications such as trim size, cover finishes, number of 1 to 4-color pages, inserts, color quality (inkjet or toner), binding and paper stock
  • Work with publisher partners on viability of printing and the best program enrollment for optimal performance per title.
  • Support the printing process from when files are submitted to when it is printed and received. This includes processing the print-ready files, tracking soft proof approvals, adjusting title statuses in databases and ordering inventory.
  • Provide QA support on partner platforms and ensure all titles are active and listed accurately.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • asic knowledge of HTML5.
  • Experience with FreshDesk ticketing system.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Interest in eBooks and Audiobooks, and the larger digital marketplace.
  • No required physical abilities.
  • No travel requirements.
