Asians and the New Multiculturalism in Aotearoa New Zealand presents thought-provoking new research on New Zealand's fastest-growing demographic: the geographically, nationally, and historically diverse Asian communities. This collection examines the unresolved tensions between a dynamic biculturalism and the recognition of other ethnic minorities by looking at such questions as What kind of multicultural framework best suits New Zealand's rapidly expanding ethnic diversity? Author Biography

Gautam Ghosh is a lecturer in the department of anthropology and archaeology at the University of Otago. He has served on the editorial boards of Anthropological Quarterly and SITES: A Journal of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies. Jacqueline Leckie is an associate professor and the head of the department of anthropology and archaeology at the University of Otago. She is the author of Indian Settlers: The Story of a New Zealand South Asian Community and To Labour with the State.
