Overview

Philosophically complex and tinged with irony and absurdity, the stories in this collection focus the everyday lives and struggles of individuals as they try to find the meaning in life. Originally meant to consist of 24 volumes with a short story for each day of the year, Pirandello's masterpiece is comprised of the 233 tales he was able to write before his death. Although he was a writer of novels and short stories, Pirandello was best known as a playwright of tragic farces, and this three-volume boxed set of masterfully written short stories offers the reader access to a different side of this Nobel laureate.
