Overview

Christian Schad’s cool, vibrant portraits, with their immaculate surface and expressive eyes, soon became icons of the 1920s. In addition to its focus on those world-famous key works of his that represent the artist’s decisive contribution to the Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity) movement, this publication also presents his early work, which was influenced by Cubism and Dadaism.
