Overview
Matty and his family make slime all the time. They know that it's simple, stretchy, scientific, and super-squishy. But Matty's slime demonstration at school turns into a disaster when he forgets the most important ingredient – saline! Instead of squishy slime, he's up to his elbows in an icky sticky swamp, and it's spreading fast. Can his classmates' creative ideas save him, or will someone find some saline at school soon?
So Much Slime is an explosion of color with vibrant language, wild facial expressions, hands-on-activities, and a hilarious, outrageous plot. Perfect for art time in an elementary class or at home, So Much Slime celebrates creativity in every sense of the word. Companion to the award-winning Too Much Glue.

"The book’s readers will be thankful to know that Matty’s recipe for slime is included….Watch out for hyperbole, onomatopoeia, and alliteration as this creative tale tickles your funny bone (Principal Stuckey?!) and slimes its ways onto your shelf of STEM faves."—Barbara Gruener, B.S., M.S., M.S., Speaker, Educator, Author, Coach
"Making slime is easy, as long as you include three simple ingredients: glue, baking soda, and—what was that third ingredient again? In this companion to 2013’s Too Much Glue, Matty, a light-skinned boy with brown hair, is demonstrating making slime to his entire class when he realizes he forgot a crucial ingredient: saline. Without the saline, the slime is a growing, oozing, sticky mixture, taking over the classroom. Matty and his classmates try a variety of solutions, until finally finding some saline solution in the science room. The book ends with a slime recipe so readers can try their hand at making slime at home. Retz’s digital illustrations have a soft quality with lots of movement, and the way he is able to illustrate the magical properties of a special glow-in-the-dark slime is particularly compelling. VERDICT Purchase where books on slime are eagerly requested and consider pairing with an always welcome slime-making activity." –School Library Journal, Kadie Seitz
