Ruka Press is a new, independent publisher of nonfiction books designed to beautifully and intelligently explain the world. Based in Washington, DC, Ruka Press was founded in early 2010 by Daniel Kohan, the owner of Sensical Design & Communication. We publish nonfiction books with a strong environmental component for a general audience. Our first titles are all about the natural world: old-growth forests, cerulean warblers, and horseshoe crabs. We print our books on 100% recycled and FSC-certified paper.
