Overview

A boy who can heal from any injury is destined for a lot of suffering. Orphaned and illegally enslaved, it seems like things can’t get worse for Kai, a skilled fighter with a cynical attitude and rapid healing powers. But when Kai has a chance encounter with a fearless princess, his dangerous adventures are just beginning. Now Kai is a brother to Wil, a reckless prince trapped by destiny, and Cara, a fierce princess dodging a political marriage and fighting attacks from the evil North. But when Kai suddenly disappears, how far will Cara go to save Kai, and her kingdom, from the queen of the North?

Reviews

“Harris’ world-building is detailed yet easy to understand, with enough mystery to keep readers engaged. Cara jumps off the page slightly more than the rest of the cast, but Kai’s perspective is also distinctive and compelling.”
~ Kirkus Reviews

“Ann Michelle Harris delivers an epic heart-pounding adventure with unforgettable characters and a dazzling tale of love and resilience.”
~ Sharina Harris, author of Sign of the Slayer and Soul of the Stone
