CHICAGO, Ill. —Independent Publishers Group (IPG) is delighted to announce that it has signed a distribution agreement with Cardinal Rule Press.

Founded in 2016 by Maria Dismondy, Cardinal Rule Press publishes high-quality children’s literature that educates and empowers kids and their communities through meaningful messages and diverse stories. In addition, its imprint, Violet Street Press, produces non-fiction titles for teachers, parents and caregivers focusing on inclusivity, character building, and personal and professional development.

Cardinal Rule’s newest imprint came in July of this year when Dismondy acquired Bucket Filler Books. Known for its line of best-selling children’s titles by Carol McCloud, Bucket Fillers has sold more than three million books and been translated into ten different languages since McCloud’s debut title, “Have You Filled a Bucket Today: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids.”

Said Dismondy, “With the acquisition of the Bucket Filler Books, IPG is the perfect distributor to handle and support our growth with their innovative ideas, fine-tuned systems and junior and senior team members.”

“I am thrilled to welcome Cardinal Rule Press back to IPG,” said Richard T. Williams, v-p of development, publishing and licensing at IPG. “Children’s publishing within the indie sphere can be difficult due to the nature of a crowded market dominated by the major houses. But Cardinal Rule Press taps into kid-friendly styles and important developmental messages in a way that sets them apart and makes them the perfect new home for Bucket Fillers.”

IPG resumed distribution of Cardinal Rule’s worldwide print list as of August 1, 2022.

About Independent Publishers Group:
Founded in 1971, IPG was the first organization specifically created for the purpose of marketing titles from independent presses to the book trade. Today, IPG’s wide reach into the book market includes distribution of both print and e-books from a wide array of publishers, digital printing and traditional publishing. With consistent growth year over year, IPG’s success has come from supporting and encouraging the growth of its publishing partners in the United States and worldwide. IPG was acquired by Chicago Review Press in 1987, and this acquisition formed the parent company Chicago Review Press, Inc., which now owns Chicago-based indie publishers Chicago Review Press and Triumph Books.
