IPG Adds Hachette India and Giunti Editore to its Sales & Distribution Programs

August 27, 2025

CHICAGO – Independent Publishers Group (IPG) is pleased to announce the addition of India based publisher to its sales and distribution programs coming this fall.

Hachette India is the Indian arm of Hachette UK. Hachette India commenced operations in May of 2008, and has seen amazing success in the fiction and nonfiction categories publishing authors such as Subroto Bagchi, DSC Prize winner Anuradha Roy, and World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand. They also got off to a great start in children's books with the bestselling The Mahatma and the Monkeys. Thomas Abraham, Managing Director of Hachette India, is excited for what the future holds with IPG:

“In a connected and flat world it’s taken too long and should have happened earlier. It’s wonderful that IPG’s distribution is now enabling a two-way street, and our books will get new audiences and North American readers will now have access to a truly increased diversity of voices and views. On a personal note, as I retire I’m pleased that one of my final initiatives I could deliver was this partnership where Hachette India books finally get beyond the confines of a local market.”

Brooke O’Donnell, SVP and head of International Business Development at IPG, extends a warm welcome to the publisher:

"We’re proud to welcome Hachette India to the IPG family. We’re thrilled to help bring their remarkable catalog beyond borders, enriching bookshelves with voices that challenge, inspire, and expand the conversation."

IPG will begin distribution of Hachette India September 1, 2025.

Giunti Editore is one of Italy’s oldest and most prominent publishing houses, with a heritage dating back to the 19th century. Headquartered in Florence, Giunti Editore has an extensive catalog of over 14,500 active Italian-language titles, covering all segments of the book industry. IPG will distribute Giunti’s inaugural English-language list which will feature approximately 35 titles, carefully selected from their renowned children’s, art, and classics categories. They have been distributed to the US and Canada through IPG as of August 1, 2025.

Today, IPG’s wide reach into the book market includes distribution of both print and e-books from a wide array of publishers, digital printing and traditional publishing. With consistent growth year over year, IPG’s success has come from supporting and encouraging the growth of its publishing partners in the United States and worldwide.
