Overview
A resource for developers that provides the tools to create Enterprise Generation Language (EGL) applications—a modern programming language specifically designed to help the business-oriented developer leverage Java without learning all of its details—this reference explains the language’s main constructs and details how it effectively handles widespread business requirements, including service creation, database access, and reporting. Software managers, traditional developers, and IT students will benefit from the step-by-step examples of a web application that relies on JavaServer Faces, a service-oriented application that accesses a relational database, and Web 2.0 applications. The practical experiences offered in this manual give developers creative responses to the complexity of application development, even without having extensive knowledge of software development.Author Biography
