Overview

With one of the many Latin American dictatorships as its backdrop, this book narrates the rites of passage of a Venezuelan teenager who still lives off of myths (James Dean, Natalie Wood, motorcycles, brothels, first drunkenness, the beach during the summer) and the torture his father, as a progressive military man, is subjected to. Con una de las muchas dictaduras de América Latina de fondo, esta obra narra al mismo tiempo los ritos de paso de un adolescente venezolano que vive aún de lo mitológico (James Dean, Natalie Wood, las motos, los prostíbulos, las primeras borracheras, el mar en verano) y la tortura a la que es sometido su padre, un militar progresista.
