Author Biography

Christopher Dyer is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Leicester. His research covers social and economic history, archaeology, and the study of the landscape, in the middle ages in England. Richard Jones is Senior Lecturer in Landscape History in the Centre for English Local History at Leicester University.
