Overview

Through the process of moving, this novel narrates the life of a family in decline: father, mother, daughter, and son. The old house and the new, as well as the objects that fill them, shape this powerful story about intimacy, rites of passage, and bewilderment, while at the same time taking part in an even larger metaphor: beyond the private lives of the characters we see the collapse of a country and of an era. Mediante el proceso de una mudanza, esta novela narra la vida de una familia en decadencia: padre, madre, hija e hijo. El entorno y los objetos de la casa vieja y de la nueva construyen este poderoso relato sobre la intimidad, los ritos de paso y el desconcierto, y a la misma vez forman parte de una metáfora aún mayor: tras las vidas privadas podemos leer el derrumbe de un país y de una época.
