In the midst of World War II, young orphans Penny and Baby are taken in by their uncle, aunt, and cousins at their Italian estate. In spite of the death of their parents, the girls lead a happy existence until the racial persecution of Fascism and Nazism arrive at the family estate, and death and horror turn that paradise into a tragic landscape. En plena Segunda Guerra Mundial, las pequeñas huérfanas Penny y Baby han sido acogidas en una villa italiana por sus tíos y primas.
