Baraka Books

Baraka Books is a new Quebec-based English-language book publisher founded in 2009. Our belief is that books remain a haven of freedom and the foremost vector for change. The word baraka is used in many languages and cultures and can mean blessing, wisdom, luck, and more. Inspired by this multilingual and cross-cultural word, Baraka Books provides English-speaking readers in North America and elsewhere with ideas, points of view, and creative works that might otherwise be overlooked because of cultural, linguistic or political barriers.

Baraka Books specializes in, but is not limited to, political, historical and creative nonfiction, publishing six to eight books a year.
