Overview

Andersenâ€ââ€ΕΎÂ¢s first novel, this was the first modern novel featuring a contemporary theme in the Nordic country. Andersen based this book on himself, as in almost all his work, so the reader can get close to the soul of the author and find many elements which appear time and again in his tales.
