Overview

The Man in the Moon (MiM) has a bit of a problem. Most nights, the moonbeams he sends to the earth help keep the nightmares of children at bay. But what if it's foggy or cloudy out, or if there's a new moon and the moon doesn't shine? It's obvious he needs some help, and he's found what seems like the perfect assistant: a sleepy little man named Sanderson Mansnoozie—Sandy to his friends—who specializes in sweet dreams. Will MiM be able to wake Sandy up and convince him to join the fight against the Nightmare King? Stunning illustrations will captivate children as they reveal even more of William Joyce's imaginative world.

Reviews

"A pleasant nighttime read, and the illustrations of tattooed mermaids, heroic constellations, and the golden Sandy himself are worth poring over time and again. Grown-ups and children alike will savor this book's rich, old-fashioned charms." —Booklist

"The many full-bleed spreads on dark backgrounds are cinematic in scope, detailed, and a pleasure to view." —School Library Journal
