Overview

Very young children are drawn to the musicality of nursery rhymes, lullabies, and poems. This collection of fables in verse features animals displaying human characteristics, such as speaking, and addresses many curious questions. Why is the pig named Pig? Are there octopus trees? Who told Perez the little mouse that he could get rich with so many teeth? What happened to the crocodile? Are there disadvantages to being a unicorn? Where do novice ducks learn? Can a bear get sick? Young readers will see themselves and the world around them in new ways while discovering new words and developing language skills.
