Capitán Nemo

This adventure novel pays homage to the masters of the genre but also takes a critical look at contemporary reality. After a giant monster causes a group to become shipwrecked, mysterious sailor Ishmael, Professor Aronnax, and young Jules Verne discover that they have been rescued by the legendary submarine Nautilus, commanded by the equally legendary Captain Nemo. Suddenly they are amongst murderers and a conspiracy with unexpected outcomes.

Hugo Hiriart studied philosophy at the Autonomous University of Mexico and painted at the National School of Painting, Sculpture, and Engraving. He has written many novels, theatrical scripts, and essays, the most well known of which are Los dientes eran el piano and Sobre la naturaleza de los sueños.
