Author Biography

Hugh Bris Sr. was born in 1929 in New York City and died in 2017 in his beloved Antarctica. He was a surrealistic painter and writer who was fascinated by painting fruit pits and orangutan hair.Although born in New York, he was raised on the top of Mount Fuji by his adopted Egyptian family; famous fur traders from Mexico.  His mother specialized in selling sea shells by the sea shore, while his father was well known locally for his "Peter Piper" brand pickled peppers.Artist and writer, Hugh experimented with many subjects and poetic musings including Gum Wads, Pastry Crumbs, Kitty Dandruff, and the modestly successful series based on his photographs of belly-button lint. His works can be found in major collections of art including the Museum of Modern Art in Fiji and the Institute of Fine Art of the Bikini Islands. His great disappointment in his creative life led to depression. He had penned no less than 100 volumes of poetry, all titled "Ode to an Orange" that never received the attention he felt they deserved. His Trumpy Sketchbook is a collection of doodles created while passing time in the bathroom. He moved to Antarctica and eventual died there in 2017.  Recent video images conclude that he was viciously attacked and dismembered by a pack of wild rabid penguins that did not appreciate his art, nor his writings.
