"Debut author Edge has created an excellent mystery in a league with Jonathan Stroud's Bartimaeus, Philip Pullman's Sally Lockhart, and Eleanor Updale's Montgomery series." Booklist starred review for Twelve Minutes to Midnight (Book 1) hardcover edition "Edge successfully delivers his own penny dreadful in the riveting style of a Victorian mystery. Original, chilling, atmospheric mystery with a heroine of remarkable mettle." Kirkus Reviews for Twelve Minutes to Midnight (Book 1) hardcover edition "The descriptions of Victorian London are vivid without being overwhelming, and the storytelling has a direct, focused clip, making this a possible candidate for readers just delving into historical mysteries." The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books review for Twelve Minutes to Midnight (Book 1) hardcover edition "Once again, Edge's deft use of Gothic elements ensures maximum chills and suspense as Penelope and pals race to outwit Gold and his contraption in a dramatic conclusion. The spunky heroine is a captivating one, as is her deliciously sensational adventure." Kirkus Reviews for Shadows of the Silver Screen (Book 2) hardcover edition "Edge is back at the top of his game in this latest genre-bending story of 15-year-old Penelope Tredwell, author and editor of the pulpy Penny Dreadful, and the hapless actor who stands in as her public face." Booklist Online review for The Black Crow Conspiracy (Book 3) hardcover edition
