The New Symposium

Overview

Featuring poets and writers from around the world in an intimate setting, this collection offers 24 dynamic and compact essays on the topics of the Commons, Justice, and Home. Tackling some of the most persistent questions of our time, the essays serve to challenge assumptions, broaden perspectives, and spark new ways of thinking. Contributors include Lewis Hyde, Scott Russell Sanders, Jane Hirschfield, Daniel Alarcón, and Tony Eprile.

Author Biography

Natasa Durovicová is the editor of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa and its online journal 91st Meridian. She is the coeditor of World Cinemas, Transnational Perspectives and How to Write an Earthquake. Christopher Merrill is the author of The Grass of Another Country, The Old Bridge, Only the Nail Remains, and Things of the Hidden God. He is the director of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. They both live in Iowa City, Iowa.
