This anthology includes memoirs, stories, and poems written in France by some of New Zealand's greatest writers—among them Janet Frame, Allen Curnow, James K. Baxter, and Michael King. French writers—including Blaise Cendrars, rugby writer Denis Lalanne, and Charles Juliet—have, in turn, visited New Zealand and their imaginative engagement with the region is also represented.Author Biography
Jenny Bornholdt is the 2005 Te Mata poet laureate. She has published seven collections of poetry, including Summer, and was the 2002 Meridian Energy Katherine Mansfield Fellow. Gregory O'Brien has published numerous collections of poetry, essays, and books about New Zealand art and literature, including After Bathing at Baxter's: Essays and Notebooks and Afternoon of an Evening Train.
