Overview

With its light-hearted, engaging images and text, this book is a perfect introduction for children on the importance of a daily dental routine and the negative effects caused by a sugary diet. Follow Robbie and the sugar bug family, the Mutants, as they make a home amongst Robbie's teeth. The Mutants love Robbie's daily diet of sprinkle donuts, lollipops, and gummies. But then things start to go rotten when Robbie eats a sprinkle donut and finds that his mouth is really sore. His friends have already run away from Robbie's stinky breath, what more could possibly happen? Robbie's parents take him to the dentist and Dr. Sam tells Robbie about the Mutants living inside his teeth. Robbie learns how to take care of his teeth and how great a visit to the dentist can be.

Reviews

"After reading [Sugar Bugs], my patients are choosing their foods more wisely, taking brushing more seriously, and even grasping the concept of spitting so as to 'spit out the sugar bugs.'."  —Dr. Kristin Elliot D.D.S, Growing Smiles
