Designed for students in secondary school, this book of exercises and lessons helps them develop study strategies that include organization, reading comprehension, note-taking skills, and test-taking skills. It first describes the executive functions of the brain—the processes that help people stay organized, manage time, pay attention, plan future behavior, and inhibit behavior—then provides the practical strategies needed to develop those functions. The practical exercises provided help with attention, communication, memory, time management, and self-control—valuable lessons for studying that are essential for proper learning and retention. By improving the way students prepare for school and learn, school success can be achieved.

I am impressed with Study Strategies Plus. The clear explanations, activities and steps have allowed my husband and I to help our daughters take more active roles in their own learning. Alisa C, mother of two, Portland, Maine School has been a struggle for me since I can remember. It was never because I was lazy or gave up or didn't have a support system. In fact, it was exactly the opposite. I worked hard and I worked consistently, and at times my parents worked just as hard as I did in order to help me. I should have been excelling as a student, but I wasn't. Teachers and tutors were mystified since according to them I was "doing everything right". I'm now proud to say that as an honor roll student now graduating high school, I no longer see myself in a negative light because of academic failures. I can literally pinpoint why - Study Strategies Plus. It's definitely hard work, but the satisfaction and joy I get from receiving good grades is worth every second. If you’re willing to spend the time to learn from the book, I assure you your academic life will improve. Jamie O, high school graduate, Florida As a guidance counselor I have watched students who use Study Strategies Made Easy dramatically improve their grades and attitudes about school. This book, Study Strategies Plus, is an excellent resource for parents, students and teachers. Bonnie G, High School Guidance Director, Plantation, FL Study Strategies Plus is absolutely the BEST we have found. the workbook format makes it very user friendly for our students and I know our teachers will love the way the material is organized.
