Staff Accountant

FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Assistant Controller
Employment Status: Full-time

Overview

IPG is looking for a detail oriented candidate with a “can do” attitude. This role will primarily focus on month end close, but will also support accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed. The ideal candidate is someone who will benefit from a broad understanding of full cycle accounting. The staff accountant, under the direction of the assistant controller and controller, will learn how to manage multiples tasks while meeting tight deadlines. Organization is key in this role as the staff accountant will need to support their work during the annual compilation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Record monthly journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with Profit/Loss Variance Analysis
  • Provide support to the external accountants as needed for the compilation
  • Aid Accounts Receivable with payment application, issuance of refund, processing of returns and chargeback, and reconciling top 20 accounts
  • Aid Accounts Receivable by responding to customer inquiries in a timely fashion, researching price, quantity, or discount discrepancies, and resolving outstanding issues

Qualificiations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 0 – 2 years’ experience in general accounting
  • Moderate to advance Excel skills (V-Lookup, H-Lookup, Pivot Table, Sumifs, If Statements, and Data Validation)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred but not required.
  • Physical abilities. The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time is required.

The Sales Associate will work closely with the Director, International Sales to assist and support in achieving the company’s sales goals and growth objectives in markets outside of the U.S. and Canada. The Sales Associate will be the key support contact for IPG’s foreign subdistributors and sales agencies and will work with client publishers and distribution program directors to facilitate sales in international markets. Additional responsibilities include producing and interpreting sales reports for the international team. Success in this position will be achieved through effectively supporting productive relationships with international partners that leads to meeting or exceeding sales goals and demonstrating analytical skills by producing actionable sales reports that provide insightful data analysis to the sales teams.
