Sales Associate

FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director, International Sales
Employment Status: Full-time

Overview

The Sales Associate will work closely with the Director, International Sales to assist and support in achieving the company’s sales goals and growth objectives in markets outside of the U.S. and Canada. The Sales Associate will be the key support contact for IPG’s foreign subdistributors and sales agencies and will work with client publishers and distribution program directors to facilitate sales in international markets. Additional responsibilities include producing and interpreting sales reports for the international team. Success in this position will be achieved through effectively supporting productive relationships with international partners that leads to meeting or exceeding sales goals and demonstrating analytical skills by producing actionable sales reports that provide insightful data analysis to the sales teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide overall administrative and sales support to international sales agencies and subdistributors.
  • Provide title data and create sales materials for international partners and the overall sales department on an as-needed basis, which may include sell-sheets, specialty catalogs, bestseller lists, sales reports, and stock reports.
  • Answer routine inquiries from program managers and client publishers regarding international sales.
  • Review and approve monthly commission reports for international sales agencies.
  • Provide regular, periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and ad-hoc international reporting
  • Compile and transform raw data in to meaningful and useful reports to reveal sales performance insights and that supports strategic decision making.
  • Achieve sales objectives while working within the department’s established budget guidelines.
  • Provide additional sales support to the overall sales department as needed.

Qualificiations:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum two years of sales experience, some book industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Clear written and oral communications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High level of MS Office proficiency required, especially in Excel. Experience with MS Dynamics CRM helpful but not required.
  • Physical abilities: The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time is required.
  • Some travel may be required: approximately 0% - 5% of the year, usually to visit key accounts and trade shows.
