Overview

A chilling mystery unravels in the fog-laden streets of Saint John, where secrets linger and justice is elusive.

Malory Fleet seeks answers after her son's murder and the disappearance of his girlfriend, Amanda. The case, closed by the police, draws Frank Cain, a reluctant private investigator, into a web of small-town corruption and personal demons. As Frank navigates the city's underbelly, he confronts a community unwilling to talk and a police force shrouded in fog.

In this atmospheric thriller, Frank risks everything to uncover the truth, even if it means facing his own unravelling. Will he find Amanda, or will the secrets of Saint John consume him? Perfect for readers of hard-boiled crime fiction and Canadian mysteries, Saints Rest explores the dark side of a city where justice is a distant hope.

Reviews

Saints Rest by Luke Francis Beirne is set in a dreary Saint John, New Brunswick and centers around Frank Cain, a private investigator. Think Dashiel Hammett’s Sam Spade or the Continental Op, and you’re on the right track for a great read. . . . Snappy dialogue and realistic characters make Saints Rest such an enjoyable book.” —James Fisher, The Seaboard Review
