Overview

This is the memoir of the man who was the strategic Mr. No to Canada’s foremost entrepreneur, Ted Rogers. As the ultimate right-hand man for over 40 years, Phil Lind tells how he helped Rogers choose the best ideas and make them work. He also tells the inside story of how Rogers made the big move into live sports, with the purchase of the Blue Jays and the start of the cable sports channel, Sportsnet. The book includes a forward by Toronto Mayor John Tory, who worked closely with the author at Rogers.

Author Biography

For 40 years, Phil Lind was the right-hand man to Ted Rogers, the late CEO of the massive Canadian communications company. Lind provided the strategic compass to channel Rogers' entrepreneurial brilliance and shape a powerful organization with vast holdings — wireless, cable, telephone, Internet, and media assets — along with the Toronto Blue Jays and a significant stake in Toronto's other professional sports teams via Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. Lind has been inducted into the Order of Canada and the U.S. Cable Hall of Fame for his role in expanding Rogers into the U.S. Phil is also a collector of contemporary art, such as Vancouver superstar Jeff Wall, and a keen fisherman.
