National Accounts Manager – Amazon

FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: VP, Director National Accounts
Employment Status: Full time

Overview

This role will be managing the largest online account for IPG and our publisher partners. This is a high-profile position that requires an experienced, knowledgeable National Account Manager with strong communication and organization skills, as well as being very detail-oriented and data-driven. The National Account Manager is responsible for managing IPG’s overall relationship with Amazon and coordinating internal cross departmental initiatives that help further the sales growth. This position reports to the VP, Director National Accounts.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Build and recommend suggested demand quantities as needed, monitor sales trends, and ensure NYP titles are stocked appropriately in advance of publication date. Identify selection and marketing gaps to drive incremental growth at Amazon.
  • Compile daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reporting and comparative title analysis for both internal distribution and to IPG publishing partners.
  • Generate regular recommendations for metadata optimization and identify title selection and marketing gaps. Provide support related to purchase orders, goods receipts, and inventory reconciliation and partner with other departments to manage day to day execution, achieve or exceed base reliability metrics (in-stock, fill rate, compliance, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot any concerns regarding the account and offer expert advice and data analysis as needed.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships, work with IPG consultants, attend customer meetings and trade conferences as appropriate.
  • Provide analysis and reporting and partner in building internal forecasting based on history and trends, bringing in data points from account forecast data.
  • Complete analysis to investigate potential opportunity areas, such as chargeback reporting or future demand to exceed supply.
  • Coordinate with the digital marketing team on Amazon advertising campaigns and other marketing initiatives that drive increased sell-through.
  • Monitor and escalate changes in key metrics; research and identify root cause.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally at all leadership levels, foster team environment and bring positive energy to the team.
  • Lead or participate on other projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: 4-year college degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years’ experience working with Amazon
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to interpret data, tell a story, and provide actionable insights
  • Strong End to End supply chain understanding
  • Experience in data mining and data analysis as well as forecasting based on history and trend
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced training in Excel. Must be able to use advanced formulas, conditional formatting, pivot tables, pivot reporting, v-lookups, filters, etc.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, problem solve, and demonstrate initiative in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong interest in book publishing, content strategy, and the broader online marketplace
