Overview

A clever, intriguing, and gripping new cozy mystery filled with exciting twists and turns, bizarre murders and fascinating characters, including several dead authors who seem to speak to Veterinarian, Miranda Scott. A fan since childhood of Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, and Sherlock Holmes their voices seem to live in her head frequently telling her what to do…and not do. Especially when it comes to solving mysteries. After a body is tossed into the lions’ habitat at the zoo where she is the senior veterinarian, Miranda and Detective Bryan Anderson find themselves investigating several murders and dealing with a group of bad guys threatening Miranda, while gangster friends of her father try to protect her. Miranda and Bryan alternate between flirting and fighting off romantic feelings. Murder, deceit, revenge, her dramatic mother, gangster father and godfather all get in the way of a fine romance!

Murder at the Zoo is such a wonderful fantasy for mystery lovers. Marcia Rosen brought together the most-loved historical mystery writers to advise her charming new character, Miranda. Rosen has brilliantly allowed us to experience the wisdom and humor of earlier writers as they become friends and advisors to Miranda and help her solve the exciting Murder at the Zoo!” —Susann Thon, Vice President, Central Coast Writers

"I enjoyed reading Murder at the Zoo. Miranda is a clever, likeable character. From the opening scene when a body is being pushed over a fence, the storyline held my interest. I especially liked references to Agatha Christie's characters and other notable fictional sleuths as well. I found the writing to be clear and paced perfectly with characters that were well-drawn and believable. I look forward to further adventures in this interesting series." —Michael Campeta, author of The Late Mr. Cary

“Such thrills in the first few sentences! Marcia Rosen knows how to get right into the adventure. Her wide range of characters are introduced early and given sufficient dimension to make them interesting and distinct and suspicious. Most intriguing and unusual are the voices in her lead character's head – the mystery writers of old who have shaped her thinking and advise her non-stop. And what a crime scene – the zoo!” —Mary Jo McDonough, President of the American Women's Association in New Delhi and World Affairs Council Board Member

“This is so much fun. Love the storyline and characters, not to mention a host of my favorite mystery authors and sleuths.” —Sharon Tucker, Workshop Chair and President, Central Coast Writers
