Author Biography

Amelia McInerney lives in Canberra, where she spends most of her time writing kids’ books, staring out the window thinking about kids’ books, and occasionally just plain staring out the window. Amelia’s books include The Book Chook, Bad Crab, My Bird Bertie, Who Fed Zed?, Mary Had a Little Lamb - What REALLY Happened, Neil the Amazing Sea Cucumber and Jeff Giraffe: The Great Escape. Alexandra’s passion is writing and illustrating poems, fairy tales and narrative picture book stories.

Alexandra was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and attended secondary school in Italy, specializing in scientific studies. She then studied at the Milan European Institute of Design where she received a degree in illustration. Alexandra’s charming artwork captures the magic, idiosyncrasies and unique personalities of children and animals in memorable, colorful settings.
