Overview

"Wherever my road takes me, there's only simple truth upon which I've always relied. Beautiful, satisfying food is what transforms moments of joy and sorrow, love and loss, success and challenge into the great, richly flavored feast we call life. These are the recipes that tell my story: the food that nourished and delighted four strong sons, the comforting favorites that have always sustained me, and the fresh and lively flavors that fill my life."
—Jamie

More than a cookbook, Jamie's Road is the story of a fascinating life told through food. From the crispy crab cakes of her native Baltimore to the chicken soup her immigrant grandmother cooked every Sunday; from the Vietnamese-inspired dishes she fell in love with in a noisy kitchen in college to the buttery classics she mastered while studying cooking in Provence; Jamie shares the recipes that have shaped her life as she’s lingered over the table with family and friends, at home and around the world.

Enlivened by the stunning photography of Deborah Jones, Jamie’s recipes and stories invite you into a world of thrilling flavors, great art, and the principle that has guided her along the road of life: "Say what you mean, say it boldly, season it confidently, and serve it with love, pride, and a little unexpected spice."

Author Biography

Jamie McCourt is a cultivator—of talent and culture and art, of big organizations and tiny startups. She rose to become the highest ranking female in Major League Baseball as the Co-Owner, President, and CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers, where she transformed the team using numerous tools—not the least of which was food. As a visionary investor, she has helped grow dozens of companies, from urban farming to life sciences technology to medical biotech. She turns food into art and grapes into wine, and she does it all from a place of personal passion: to bring people together for lively conversation and connection, empowering them to accomplish great things.
