IT Support Associate

FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Chief Information Officer
Employment Status: Full-time

Overview

The IT Support Associate is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software as the first point of contact for IPG employees. This position will respond to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolate problem, and determine and implement solution.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
  • Write training manuals.
  • Update internal Wiki
  • Train computer users.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  • Respond to email messages and support tickets from employees
  • Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
  • Walk employees through problem-solving process.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Clean up computers.
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Install computer peripherals for users.
  • Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualificiations:

  • Associate’s degree in an IT related field
  • 2 years of help desk experience supporting a mid-size company highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong proficiency in Windows 7, Office 365, and Active Directory
  • Ring Central knowledge desired
  • Physical abilities: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, 75-100 pounds.
  • Travel requirements: 5% (monthly to local office in West Chicago). Personal transportation not required.
