A native of Hallstatt and a resident of Vienna, photographer Josef M. Fallnhauser knows Hallstatt like the back of his hand. The photo archive he has devoted to his native home and built up over the years is an authentic documentation that goes beyond the idyllic postcard image. It's a vivid collection of history and stories, nature experiences and cooking recipes. The author's characteristic "view from the outside" gives him the distance he needs to be able to take an impartial, critical look at the place where he was born.
