Overview

Emmanuel Régent is an artist who shares his time between Paris and the French Riviera. His work consists of both classical techniques and the latest technological developments. The artist is well known for his black felt drawings, which are deliberately full of gaps, but he also works in sculpture and painting. His series of paintings entitled Nebuleuses, are made up of different strata of monochrome paints that he sands down in certain places to reveal hidden layers of colour. His production revolves around notions of absence, layering and erosion. Régent's work has appeared in a number of solo and collective exhibitions in France and abroad, including Vienna, Geneva, Monaco, Salzburg, and Paris. Texts by Rudy Ricciotti and Patrice Joly French and English
