Reviews

"Part history, part pure fantasy in the tradition of the Arabian Nights, Steve Paulsen’s Dream Weaver is the thrilling story of a generous and courageous young man whose dreams have unusual properties. When he sets out to learn the truth of his past, he meets the beautiful and feisty Rose, and together, they journey across a beautifully nuanced landscape.” —Isobelle Carmody, best-selling YA author.

“A magical blend of fantasy and history, this book takes the reader on a wondrous adventure through exotic locations and amazing dreamscapes, into the furthest reaches of the imagination. I loved every word!” —George Ivanoff, Multi-award winning kids and YA author of the You Choose and Other Worlds book series, and the popular non-fiction Survival Guides series.

“Steven Paulsen’s YA historical fantasy diligently charts a dreamer boy’s bare feet sprinting along a vivid Mediterranean backdrop and stumbling across the vast Badiyat Ash-Sham desert. In a world where the port is a marketplace for crafty begging and the arid sands a place for hope, dreams summon taste and cartwheel in multihues. Dream Weaver is a fast-paced, seascape and desertscape escapade, vibrant with discernment and a hearty sense of place.” —Eugen Bacon, World Fantasy Finalist and award-winning author of Danged Black ThingMage of Fools and Chasing Whispers.
