The New York Times Best Seller!
Jack Skellington is the undisputed Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. But it wasn’t always that way...
Years ago, Jack and Oogie Boogie were close friends. Both eager to prove themselves, they poured all their passion into their fantastical projects to earn their rightful place as the scariest duo in town. But there could only be one Pumpkin King! What could have happened to turn two best friends into such bitter rivals?
"Even if you are not familiar with the original film, the graphic novel The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Battle For Pumpkin King does justice to the original. Dan Conner’s writing flows the story with the right amount of humour. Deborah Allo draws every line as if the environment and the characters are alive and we are there in the town with them. We can not miss the finesse in colouring that Roberto Scalia executes. My overall impression is that this story is beautifully illustrated; it has easy-to-follow, funny dialogues with cleverly placed subtexts on the importance of friendship and honesty." — Ilgın Side Soysal, The Comics Beat
Dan Conner has worked on many comics throughout his career, including writing for The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Battle for Pumpkin King, coloring for The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero's Journey, and cover art for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Archie, and Betty and Veronica. He is also the creator and primary artist of My Gal, the Zombie. He is the father of a son and a daughter and lives in Florida.
Deborah Allo (Catania, Sept. 9, 1991), is a comic artist and fashion illustrator based in Palermo. After graduating from the School of Comics in Palermo, she collaborated with Grafimated Cartoon on the short animation movie I Vespri Siciliani. Later she worked as a colorist for the London-based Holy loft Production and collaborated with Tunué on the coloring of The Passenger, a graphic novel from a script by Carlo Carlei. Again for Tunué, she illustrated two stories by Sergio Algozzino entitled il piccolo Caronte and Myrna e il tocco della morte. She is currently working on a new graphic novel to be published in 2023, from a Marco Rizzo story, for Italian publisher Shockdom. A few months ago she made her debut in fashion illustration with a publication for the new magazine Eccetera, of the Linkiesta publishing group.
