Author Biography

As a young woman, Ulrike Hobbs-Scharner studied theology as a lay student for twelve years. Inspired by the lives of the great Spanish and German mystics, she devoted much of her time to gaining an intimate understanding of their work and wisdom. In 1997, Ulrike established Heiler Mench, Heile Erde (Healthy People, Healthy Earth), a nonsectarian, nonprofit institute in Germany that combines spiritual education with personal development. She also has authored numerous books and gives lectures and workshops there. In 2005, she founded the Academy for Ethics and Consciousness, a school for expanding awareness for a responsible, competent, and purposeful approach to personal, professional, and social aspects of one#&39;s life. Ulrike has two grown children and lives with her husband in California.
