Three of the most important works written by Ludwig Tieck, one of the fundamental writers of the German Romantic movement, are presented in this book: The Blond Eckbert, The Runenberg, and The Elves. In these novellas, fantasy infiltrates everyday human life and produces catastrophic consequences. Ludwig Tieck was a German poet, translator, editor, novelist, and critic who was one of the founding fathers of the Romantic movement of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Isabel Hernández is a translator. Hermann Hesse was a Swiss poet, novelist, and painter.
