Overview

In a continuation of the Code Word series, when a new and more powerful AI retakes control, a team of hackers must help the Organites escape before they are all exterminated

Every system has its weakness.

In a continuation of the Code Word series, Shawn, the young genius who fell victim to the AI system he developed, has become a fixture of the outlawed ‘Organite’ resistance. His relationship with their leader, Destiny, has intensified.

But a rift has developed. Shawn sees the technology he developed as a tool, not the disease, and wants to defeat the corrupt humans who are abusing it. Destiny and her Organite militia, see technology as the enemy and want it all to come crashing down.

But when an all-out government assault reveals that a resurgent political party is using a new, more powerful AI system called APEX to round up its enemies and to lock down society and Shawn finds himself in a battle against his former best friend, Destiny will have to decide whether it is better to stay and fight or to leave America altogether.

Ultimately Shawn and Destiny will take down the human handlers that control Apex… only to discover that this was the AI’s intention from the start.

"Fast and fueled by action...presents challenging issues for the reader to ponder." - ScreenCraft

Author Biography

Alex Schuler began his career as a Navy pilot, then developed AI software for the commercial and defense sectors. His systems have been deployed on Navy ships and submarines, as well as NASA space shuttles. Alex turned to writing exciting and accessible science-based fiction to explore the ethical and philosophical implications of the technology he helped develop. His characters question their place and purpose in a rapidly changing world of ever-more-sophisticated—and potentially dangerous—technological advances.

Code Word Access, the first novel in Alex Schuler's Code Word series, shot to #1 on Amazon in the sci-fi category.

An early fan of Star Trek (the original, of course), The Outer Limits, and Sigourney Weaver in the Alien movies, you might find Alex wandering the halls of ComicCon or reading a great sci-fi book under redwood trees. Which book? Maybe Dune (Frank Herbert) or Stranger in a Strange Land (Robert Heinlein).
